Terms & Policies

In order to register, you must read and agree to the terms and policies for this course. Please read the following thoroughly, and click the “I Agree to These Terms” button at the bottom of the page before submitting your registration.

Waiver of Liability

This course is not a substitute for medical or psychological attention, examination, diagnosis or treatment. It is not recommended and is not safe under certain medical or psychological conditions. I should consult a physician or therapist prior to beginning any activity program, including this course. I recognize that it is my responsibility to notify my instructor of pregnancy, any serious psychological or physical illness or injury before every class. I affirm that I alone am responsible to decide whether to join this course.

I understand that this course includes physical movements as well as an opportunity for deep relaxation, stress re-education and relief. If at any time during the class, I feel discomfort or strain, I will gently come out of the exercise or practice. I may rest at any time during the class. As is the case with any physical activity, the risk of injury, even serious or disabling, is always present and cannot be entirely eliminated. If I experience any pain or discomfort, I will listen to my body and mind and inform my instructor immediately.

I hereby agree to irrevocably release and waive any claims that I have now or hereafter may have against Kathleen A. Philbin, Ph.D., or Kara Grief Support for Children, Teens, Families & Adults.

Confidentiality Agreement

I will treat what you tell me with great care. My professional ethics prevent me from telling anyone else what you tell me unless you give me written permission. There are also some limits on our confidentiality and I want you to understand clearly what I can and cannot keep confidential.

If during a session you mention that you or another person is in danger this will be discussed and if appropriate, reported to the authorities.

Please agree to complete confidentiality. This means do not speak about what you hear or observe about others’ experiences in the class. Also, do not approach others about what they have shared in class. If a class participant approaches you and would like to discuss their own experience, that is OK. And, although this may not have to be said, please do not bring up your experiences in social situations. The internal work that you do is sacred. Please hold it with high regard.

Cancellations will be accepted up to two weeks prior to the course commencement date. A $100 cancellation fee will be deducted from the registration fee. There will be no refund for cancellations after the cancellation date. Refund requests must be sent to kait@drkaitphilbin.com.
